Metallica at Mohegan Sun 2026 — Plan Your Bachelor Party Weekend
Mohegan Sun November 19 and 21, 2026 — A Fan’s Perspective and Your Bachelor Party Weekend
Metallica is playing Mohegan Sun Arena on November 19 and 21, 2026 with Suicidal Tendencies opening. If you already have your tickets you know what secondary market prices look like right now — scary. If you are going, you planned ahead. And if you are planning a full weekend around these shows, VIP Entertainment has been booking Mohegan Sun bachelor parties since the casino opened. But before we get to that — I have some Metallica history to share. Because I am not just an agency owner trying to capitalize on a concert. I have been a fan since before most of my customers were born.
Oxford Maine, 1988 — Monsters of Rock in the Rain
August 1988. Me, Brian, and Phil drove from Goffstown, New Hampshire to Oxford Maine for the Monsters of Rock festival. Kingdom Come, Metallica, Dokken, Scorpions, Van Halen — all on the same bill. We waited in line in the morning, got in, I actually liked Kingdom Come at the time — yes I know, Led Zeppelin clones, but I was 18. Then Metallica hit and we pushed up front. Torrential rain the entire time. Did not matter. This was Metallica on the …And Justice For All tour and they were untouchable.
After Metallica finished we looked at each other and said — let’s go home, we do not care about the rest. So we started looking for Phil. Could not find him anywhere in the crowd. Walked the whole festival. No Phil. Gave up and went to the car. There was Phil — sitting at the car, completely happy, waiting for us. He had been there the whole time. We missed Dokken, the Scorpions, and Van Halen to look for a guy who was already at the car. Worth it.
Worcester Centrum, 1989 — Birdman Takes the Stage
The next year we were front row at Worcester Centrum. My friend Brian — we called him Birdman — was in row 1 with me. During the encore Birdman jumped on stage. Security pulled him off within seconds but someone in the crowd had a camera running. The video ended up on YouTube decades later and I found the 10 second clip of Birdman on stage before getting pulled off. Front row at Metallica in 1989, your friend jumps on stage, and 35 years later it is on YouTube. That is a time capsule.
The Black Album Tour, 1991 — James Hetfield, My Mullet, and Chico
1991 Metallica had released the Black Album. Bob Rock produced it, they cut their hair, and in my opinion they went commercial. But I still paid $160 for front row at Worcester. During Seek and Destroy, James Hetfield came off the stage and walked along the front row holding the microphone out for fans to sing. He walked right past me and my mullet. Bypassed me completely. Stopped at my friend Chico — tall, Uruguayan, full facial hair — and said “got your song right?” Chico had apparently been yelling for a different song all night. James did not care. He cued up Seek and Destroy, held the mic out, and Chico sang it. I watched from two feet away with my mullet, passed over for a Uruguayan man named Chico. The video is below — you can see it happen around the 2 hour mark.
Rock 101 Auction — Ace Frehley and the Signed Promo Disc
A few months after the Manchester NH parking lot show, Rock 101 held an auction hosted by Ace Frehley. My buddy Dan won a Metallica playlist autographed by the band. I won the Mandatory Metallica promo disc — autographed by all four members. James, Lars, Kirk, and Jason. I still have it. That promo disc sitting in my collection is a direct line from a radio station auction in New Hampshire in the early 90s to Metallica playing Mohegan Sun in 2026. Thirty five years of being a fan.
Suicidal Tendencies — Opening Act and a Ball Cap
Suicidal Tendencies are opening both Mohegan Sun shows. Big Fan. I saw Suicidal open for Queensryche at Worcester Centrum when Queensryche was performing Operation Mindcrime live in full — one of the greatest concert experiences I have ever had. I had a Suicidal Tendencies ball cap with the brim flipped up showing SUICIDAL across the front. Different era, different crowd, same energy. If you are going to these Mohegan Sun shows for Metallica and writing off the opener — do not. Suicidal Tendencies is the real deal and always has been.
Now — Your Mohegan Sun Bachelor Party Weekend
Enough about me. Here is the practical part. Metallica at Mohegan Sun on November 19 and 21 means two weekends of massive crowds, sold out hotels, and groups of friends making a full Connecticut casino weekend out of it. Bachelor parties, birthday weekends, guys trips — all of them happening at Mohegan Sun those two weekends.
VIP Entertainment has been booking Mohegan Sun bachelor parties since the casino opened. We know the property — the Sky Tower, the Earth Tower, the Fox Tower. We know how to coordinate a private show discreetly in a hotel suite while the rest of the casino is packed with concert crowds. Pre-show, post-show, or the night before — we work around your schedule.
Tickets are already on secondary market at serious prices. If you made the investment to be there for Metallica, make the whole weekend worth it. A private VIP show at your Mohegan Sun suite before or after the concert is the kind of thing your group will be talking about long after the last chord fades.
