Boston World Cup 2026. 3AM Bars and a Bachelor Party
Update June 8, 2026: The Massachusetts Senate on Monday approved legislation that would give cities and towns the option to temporarily permit extended bar and restaurant closing times in designated outdoor areas.
If adopted locally, the proposal would allow communities to create designated outdoor entertainment districts where people can purchase alcoholic beverages from licensed establishments and consume them in approved public spaces, such as streets and parks. The measure would run through Labor Day, September 7, 2026.

Boston is about to have its biggest summer in years. The 2026 FIFA World Cup brings seven matches to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough from June 13 through July 9, millions of international visitors to the region, and now a real shot at 3AM last call at bars across Massachusetts.
The 3AM Bar Bill Just Passed the House
A bill from Fall River Representative Carole Fiola would let cities and towns push last call back from 2AM to 3AM and allow drinking in designated public spaces like World Cup watch parties. On Thursday, June 4, the Massachusetts House passed it unanimously, 147 to 0. It now moves to the Senate, which could vote as soon as next week. If the Senate approves it, it goes to Governor Maura Healey, who has already said she backs it, and it takes effect the moment she signs.

The House trimmed the end date to July 31, which still covers every World Cup match at Gillette Stadium. Each city or town decides for itself: extend all summer, just on match days, or not at all, with sign off from the local licensing board.
Governor Healey, Senate President Karen Spilka, and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu have all backed it. Matches start June 13, so the clock is ticking on the Senate.

Massachusetts is not alone. Rhode Island already went further, its governor signed a law letting bars stay open until 4AM during the Cup. Philadelphia passed one back in March, and Kansas went even further with near round-the-clock service for the tournament. Boston bar owners are ready. Kevin Treanor, who owns Phoenix Landing in Cambridge, one of the busiest soccer bars in the area, put it plainly: “Why not, let’s have a party. It’s the World Cup.”

A Warning Worth Reading Before You Book Anything
Big events draw scammers, and this one is no exception. The FBI issued a formal warning on May 27 about spoofed FIFA websites and fake ticket portals. The FTC has flagged cloned sites pushed through paid ads and social media. The pattern is always the same, and it is worth knowing because it applies to far more than match tickets.
Watch for these signs on any booking, tickets, party packages, or entertainment:
- Pressure to pay right now or lose the spot
- Demands for payment by Zelle, Cash App, wire transfer, gift cards, or crypto
- A website address that looks almost right but has typos or extra words
- A person who will not give a real name or a straight answer on the phone
That is exactly the opposite of how we run VIP Entertainment. No deposit. You pay the entertainer on arrival, after you can see she is the person you booked. You talk to the owner, not a call center and not a guy hiding behind a fake name. We have operated this way since 1992 for one reason: it is how an honest business should work.
